Helloooooo, my friend!!!
Did you know that last Friday was Pokemon Day?? And not only was it just Pokemon Day, it was Pokemon's 30th anniversary! 30 whole years of Pokemon! I cannot believe it (yes, I am that big of a nerd). I've had Pokemon with me my whole life and cannot imagine where I'd be without it. It's shaped a lot of my creative works and given me so many points of inspiration. Did you think I could get anymore nerdy? Well, let me tell ya, I even wrote out a whole itinerary of how I would spend my day Friday to make the most of Pokemon Day... silly, yes, but did I have fun, YES! (I rewatched Pokemon Rise of Darkrai and it was fab, let me tell ya).
That inspiration has definitely been fueling my recent writing habit! I've been on a quest to write 200 words a day to keep myself in a routine and I am happy to announce that in February I wrote 6,120 words! That's more than I've written in a single month since June 2025 when I finished Sacred Book 2!! I'm so happy with my progress and finding joy in writing again—primarily with flash fiction horror (reealllllly random stuff haha but the whole goal of my 200 words per day was to just get into a rhythm and find something I could get excited about, and I guess horror does that for me 🤷♀️). Perhaps there will be a collection of Maggie flash fiction stories released one day, we shall see 🤔
I also have an Alyria Issue #2 sneak peek for you! I am so excited to share with you guys the very rough first page draft of Alyria Issue #2, which is in the works and set to be released on Kickstarter Fall 2026. I had such a ball writing this second installment in my fantasy comic series. It's whimsical, it's cozy, and it's got all the flying frog fun you'd expect out of a new story in the world of Sacred!! Alyria has some tough choices to make, and her new class partner, Hali, doesn't seem to want to make it easy for her... more updates to come here SOON!
