That’s right…I’ve been fully infected by the nostalgia bug! This past week, a glorious toy from my childhood made its way back onto retail shelves for the first time in well over a decade….WEBKINZ!! If you don’t know what Webkinz is, don’t worry, I am here to educate you. Webkinz is an online game where you buy a real life plush (like the one pictured below) and bring it to life online via an access code. It’s super fun and now that it’s made its way back to popularity, a bunch of my friends are online and playing, which is SO fun! The nostalgia is practically overflowing out of my brain 😜
Wanna help me name this new slithery buddy? Reply to this email and let me know which of the 3 names I am considering most resonate with you. So far, I’m waffling between:
Lizzie: the name of my late childhood pooch
Mauz: pronounced “mouse”, and the name of Barnaby’s flying pet toad from my YA Fantasy series, Sacred
Zuzian: a play off another Sacred character’s name (Drayzuzian—he is a bad guy in Sacred Book 1—I just like his name a lot)

On another fun note, I collaborated with a local brewery to create a beer for my Sacred series! It was so so much fun and I am so grateful to everyone who came out to support and hang out during the event. The signature beer was called Gully’s Gulp after the cat-bird hybrids in the Sacred world!! And the can was SOO cute (shoutout Alex Suarez, a local artist from my hometown who helped me with the design). We had loads of fun and had a blast trying this tasty sip!

Time is FLYINGGGG and my next release (November 3rd—only 10 days out WOAHHHH) is hitting the streets in just 10 DAYSSSS! HOLY MOLY! If you haven’t already, be sure to follow the prelaunch page on Kickstarter (my preferred sales platform as it allows me to offer extra bonus goodies that I otherwise couldn’t on other platforms).
Anyways, I’ll be talking a LOT about these in the coming week, and I hope you’ll join me in ringing in the release on November 3rd on Kickstarter. Every recipe and every page has been re-imagined with a holiday twist (call me a photoshop queen or something I guess because I re-imagined EVERY single image in the book to be holiday themed—yess, it took me forever, but YESS it was worth every second because it will be beautiful!). My human did something peculiar this past week…she brought another creature into MY domain! She said it would only be there a few days, but a few days is a few too many for me! You must understand, I am used to being the ONLY creature dominating this space I call home. Once I got past it’s occasional crying, I guess I was okay…it was pretty cute I guess. Plus, my owner kept calling me “such a patient, good boy”…I love when she compliments me. Anyways, the creature is gone now as she said she was only “sitting” it temporarily. Now it’s just me and my human, yay!
Alrighty then! I think I’ve about talked your ear off for this little edition of “what in the world is Maggie up to now”. I plan on sending out some more fun stuff as we lead up to the super exciting launch of my bookish-inspired instant powder drink line (Nov3—remember?? MARK THAT SHIZ DOWN!!!).
